About the Demo
SWS President Ronnie Rector will share her batik technique that adds light and luminous shadows to her paintings. Ronnie will be using the hot wax Batik method with watercolor on rice paper. Contemporary batik allows the use of etching, discharge, dyeing, stencils, different tools for waxing and dyeing, wax recipes with different resist values and work with silk, cotton, wool, leather, paper or even wood and ceramics.

About the Artist
Ronnie serves as President of SWS. She is also a member of Nevada Artist’s Association in Carson City and the Sacramento Fine Arts/WASH organization. Her work has won several awards, been juried into national and international exhibits and publications.
