Workshop: October 4 - 6, 9:00 - 4:00
Registration fees: $525 members / $585 non-members Free Public Demo: October 7, 2023, 1:00 to 3:00 pm This will be a three-day watercolor workshop that will focus on creating visually dynamic and colorful watercolor paintings that are stylized or abstracted to command attention.Renowned artist Sterling will do a different painting each day and will include a landscape, a floral, and a still life. In addition you'll see a wide variety of watercolor techniques including balancing positive and negative shapes, glazing and charging colors, creative color mixing, saving select areas of unpainted white paper, the importance of adding rich and dark values, building a strong composition, and much more. Each day Sterling will a complete painting while he explains what he is doing and entertains your questions as he is painting. He is renowned for his in-depth and relaxing teaching style. In the afternoons you will have plenty of time to work on your painting with Sterling on-hand the entire time to answer questions and critique your painting if requested. |
